Now for some opinions from one who has driven both... Saab 9-3: Handles very well, good ride. With the top down it rides better, less rattle and shaking than the Volvo. I did have some issuses with the automatic top not closing easily. The Saab does share components with other GM Europe vehicals (including the V6 engine found in Saturns), but I have seen prices for the parts drop alot since GM took over (in my 85 & 86 900s). Great exceleration an bountiful power makes the car real fun to to drive. This car was a week long loaner from the dealer in 1999. The heated seats have level settings in the Saab while the Volvo has one- well done. Volvo C70: My mother owns a 2000, and loves it. My major hang ups with it are that the rear window is useless, the Saab's was larger and easier to see out of, and that with the top down its body shakes alot. Coolness factor: The memory seats, it remebers your seat settings with the touch of a button. There are separate climate controls for driver and passenger, the Sabb had all in one. The hazard light switch is in a bad area, right in front of the shifter: when you shift you can easily turn it on with your knuckles. My father loves the service costs. From what I have seen they seem to about balance each other out costwise. This is probly due to Ford's influence, since they bought them. It has a strait 5 cylinder engine that has very good pick up. Both have good and bad dealers, so do research about your locals. I like the Saab better. Jeremy
