So I've heard. BMW had a couple missteps, which has lowered the value of the company. And GM is in need of another premium luxury brand. Give GM 5 more years.... They'll gain full control of Honda and Acura. >> Remember, Ford is just as "influential" as GM.... Ford, Lincoln, >> Mercury, Jaguar, Rover, Volvo, Mazda. > No mention of Porshe, Audi, Volkswagon? They're not controlled by Ford. They're part of the VW family. The auto industry is consolidating. Eventually, there will be 5 Giant Auto manufacturers. 1) General Motors 2) Ford Motors 3) Daimler-Chrysler 4) Volkswagen AG 5) Toyota Motors All "smaller" auto manufacturers, will either be owned by or be influenced by one of these 5. BMW is essentially #6, but they're small comparatively. I have a Road&Track issue somewhere that shows the relationships. -- Marc Escuro mgescuronopsam.com http://home.att.net/~bryesquire "...when all hope is gone, you know sad songs say so much..."
