'89 900 had a problem with the LH ECM failing to pull down the fuelpump relay. If the car runs with 12v fed to the fuel pump fuse, the pump is ok. At that point, it's either replace the ECM or do bypass surgery to install a pair of relays to emulate the fuel pump system on an '85 CIS car. Seems like used ECM's for '89s are in very short supply because of this problem.
