Well, after messing around with it today I've pretty much verified that it's the fuel pump. The "kick test", by way of tapping on the pump with a hammer while my wife cranks the engine gets it started. This is the only way it starts and it only stays running for less than a minute and then it "runs out of gas". Luckily my father's garage is able to get one for less than $200 but I have to find out if it's a Bosch or something else. I'm pretty sure it's a Bosch but there's no identifying markings on it that I can see with out pulling it and I don't really feal like having an exposed gas tank in my trunk.
