Subject: O2 sensor & black smoke?

I've got what I think is a bad O2 sensor, but before I spend the bucks, I'd like some opinions on if I'm on the right track please. Car: 1988 Saab 900 Turbo 2.0 litre inline 4 220,000 miles or so (I'd have to check, maybe more like 230,000). Symptoms: Car sometimes "stumbles" while driving, usually under high-load conditions. - Doesn't seem to happen when the car is cold, only when I've been drivng a while - I can see black smoke from the tailpipe while it's doing it My O2 sensor has never been changed. I'm inclined to think that this would be the culprit, but can anyone think of other logical things to check? Thanks, Dave Hinz
