FYI . . . the GM 3800 V6 (3.8 litre) pushrod engine is a balance-shaft design. It is one of the best, if not the best, engine in the GM stable (not including Saab, of course). Most GM 3.8 litre V6's will easily go 200K+ without any major work. You will find them in a transverse arrangement on most full size front wheel drive GM cars, as well as many intermediates.
