It's not the wheeling across the office that take the time with the phone call: it's the looking up of the number, the dialing, the talking to the other person, the waiting on hold, the more talking, the more waiting on hold, etc, etc. I find that talking to my dealership takes five to ten minutes. And it requires my attention for those five to ten minutes. I can fire off a post to a newsgroup in well under a minute, and I don't have to sit holding the receiver waiting for answers. Sometimes immediate answers is not as important as the amount of total time taken by the task. I find that these days the phone has become my least preferred method of long distance communication having been well outstripped by email. Still, I agree, it does sounds crazy. -- Viktor Haag : Software & Information Design : Research In Motion +--+ "The rules of the game are somewhat complex, but will reward the careful student with glory and wealth."
