OK everyone. It's fixed. It was a faulty bypass switch (in the back of the glove box). Replacement switch: £34 (Sterling) Main Dealer Labour: £175 (Sterling) Ouch! But I had no real alternative other than junk the car (which at 105k is still a youngster). SAAB, like other manufacturers do not release details of their alarm systems so DIY and 3rd party repairs are virtually impossible. Don't you just love Main Dealers? Adrian Hampshire, England.
