I have a fairly unusual problem, at least I think it's unusual. On my 1996 900SE convertible, one of the trunk supports (the hydrolic cylindar thing) has broken at the lower mount point. Could do with that, but now I can't get the trunk open more than about an inch. The support seems to have gotten stuck under the lower pin that it's mounted on. I can reach in with a finger and feel the broken tip, but can't move it with my finger. Any suggestions as to get this unstuck? I've thought of sliding a dow rod in against the end and compressing it, but haven't tried yet. My concern is that I could end up damaging the paint in the process. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Is there a possible easier way of doing this? Thanks Greg
