I live in rural central New Hampshire. Yeh we get lots of snow but that may not be the issue. The real questionis how competent are the snow removal crews where you live? I recently bought a new set of tires. i was gonna go for a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires. I asked my mechanic/deaelr who has serviced all my cars for years. his response was interesting (and keep in mind i was buying the tires from him). he asked me if I had need to be out ont he streets at 2Am when it was snowing or if I regularlyhad to drive out in the teeth of a blizzard. I said no and he responded with "well why buy snow ties then, they are not good performers on cleared roads adn all the roads around ehre get cleared within a few hours of a storm."
