Subject: Re: Fuel Pump Problem?

Love this newsgroup!! So I've got a question... did you carve the potato first or just cram it in there? Any good vegetable solutions for my sagging headliner? My fuel pump went while on vacation on Cape Cod a couple of years ago. They guy who towed it was coming up with creative theories as to what was wrong, so I was happy to find a pump for $375+ so that I could check out of the $200/night hotel that someone was nice enough to drop me at. I would have been even happier if Saab could have just given me the right part number the FIRST time. Someone should tell them that putting two types of fuel pumps on the same instruction sheet isn't a good idea. They did cut $50 or so off my bill because I was not happy... My home service writer did diagnose this over the phone so I I'm thankful for that. Yeah the guy who towed me banged on my fuel pump when I suggested that's what was wrong... Unfortunately it didn't keep going. I just noticed that the dealer added a new ground when they replaced my ECU (Fuel injection computer) any thoughts that might be a good idea BEFORE it strands you again? Oh ... the Saab parts system messed up AGAIN and I had to tell them which part number for the relays that were eventually proved fine. Why do I still feel very loyal to SAAB? -Dan cnopsamspring.com wrote: > hey man, > down here in the south we like to bang on things, > use bailing wire or clothes hangers, > even chewing gum. > i once used a potatoe for a gas cap. > we also get lots of miles on our old clunkers > and spend our money on beer. > how do we do it? > JUNK YARDS > scrap your vanity and go junking. > pick you up a six pack and go junking. > don't look just for what you need, > look around and you might see > that there is a wealth of parts. > so go get you a junk yard fuel pump > but be sure that you don't over pay > and be sure you get a warranty (yeh right) > wish you luck man > one more word of wisdom > if you'd bought $1000.00 worth of nortel in 1999 it would be worth $49.00, > > but, if instead you'd have bought $1000.00 worth of budwiser > (the beer not the stock) and you'd have drank the beer and sold the cans > you'd have $79.00. you wouldn't have given a shit what the markets are > doing either. > > Choupyt wrote: > > > I have a 1990 SAAB 900 (hatchback).
