Subject: side mirror controls 93 S convertable 2001

Hi, I've just become the owner of a near new 93 S convertible 2001 model. Everything appears to be great with the vehicle but it does have one oddity...... The electric mirror controls are located on both sides of the vehicle, that is to say that the controls on the right hand side are fully functional (right hand drive for australia) and those on the left are not functional but a complete switch set is there anyway. I've looked at other 2001 models and they have a blank (left hand) panel were these controls are. I've checked to see if maybe the car had been in an accident and odd spares were used but i can find no evidence of a repair job and a left hand mirror control in australia would be rare. any ideas? jim
