I meant that I remember your story. Anything about Saabs - good or bad - is relevant for this ng, and in particular we want to know about problems, so don't worry. > I have not heard anything from SAAB. Just after it had run out of the one year warranty, it blew the head gasket. Not as expensive as your case, but you should have seen the trouble I had with FIAT, they made all sort of excuses. Their main excuse was that it didn't have an original FIAT oil filter! I had been extra cautious and had the oil changed before a long holiday drive at a service outfit, but this was a reputable outfit; FIAT excuse was completely spurious. I even had an independent engineers report on the car, but the garage had disposed of all the damaged parts! I was tenacious like you, but in the end FIAT succeeded in fobbing me off because I was too busy in my dayjob. Now I often read Auto Express (UK), there they have a regular column dealing with various problems that customers have with car dealers and companies. It is amazing have quickly the companies often change their minds when contacted by the magazine. Johannes
