Duh.... RWD cost less. It's found on pick up trucks, old Corollas and Coronas, and a lot of other cheap cars. Independent RWD that compensates for the unsprung weight associated with RWD will cost more. FWD has advantages in just about every real world driving situation. In racing, RWD has advantages off the line under heavy acceleration due to weight transfer and when cornering at the limit. RWD loses in any other real life situation, including, but not limited to, traction in the rain, snow or on loose surfaces; and through corners at anything less than speeds where the tires begin to break away. Duh. Where'd you get _your_ engineering degree ? Bob
