Any special >suspension stuff that will break the bank? You may be nuts, but prolly not. Anyhow, if you have the service records available to you and you still find it to be in excellent condition, I'd say go ahead. If they are not available, or the records show an inordinate number of failures, it may be in your best interest to walk away. If it has been well taken care of, [statistically speaking] it shouldn't be much different than any other 900 Turbo with respect to service costs. w.r.t. suspension: The suspension is not much different than a regular 900S or Turbo. The springs are lower and a little stiffer and I think that it had different dampers as factory spec. And, those beautifull side >skirts, will they survive New England winters? Wash the auto frequently. Especially the underside in the winter. My SPG has seen seven Wisconsin winters [roads are heavily salted], and so far it looks fine. Your experience may differ. Anyhow, having a SAAB is enjoyable, just because they aren't the trash that most of the U.S. car buyers are willing to put up with. {Thankfully this message isn't crossposted so we can avoid a flame war with the Toyota kids that a comment like that would be sure to spawn] The SPG is even nicer, since it is a distinct version of an already distinct automobile that most the "other kids on the block" don't have.
