I had my system checked at the first service as I couldn't notice anything either (2001 93). Tried windows up and down as I was driving to see what happened. Not a lot! Anyway, the service guy said it was fine and that it's a very minor volume change, so subtle you're not meant to notice it. I think he's right, I DON'T notice it.. and have to adjust volume, but hey, whatever, agree, not an exciting feature anyway.
