Race cars are probably THE one place where synthetic oil may have some value since they, unlike the average car, run at the sustained high temperature that the advertising alludes too. For the average consumer, non synthetic and regular changes are more than adequate. Synthetics are mostly oil company hype and a waste of money, just like they promote using premium fuels. If you listen closely to what they say, they are not telling you it will improve anything in a vehicle designed to run on 87 octane. What they are saying is it will make your 91 octane car run as it was designed to do.
