Can you say the same about Scamsoil? Nope, but I can say that AMSOIL marketed the first API licencsed synthetic oil, back almost 30 years ago and a few years before Mobil started test marketing their 5W-20 Mobil 1. Incidently, there are several large manufacturers now marketing non-synthetic without API license--think Valvoline for "older cars" is one.
