Subject: Is my clutch going

I have a 12 year old SAAB 9000 Auto 100,000 miles and when I go up a slight incline the revs increase with no increase in road speed, eventually something kicks in and the revs go down and the car moves. From the untrained eye it would look like the clutch is slipping. Would I be right in this observation, and what ball-park figure would be acceptable to corrent it. Thanks in advance.
