Subject: Re: Driving a 9-3

There is a rumor about how the 0-60 times are obtained by the various car magazines. The technique is to rev up the engine with the transmission in 1st gear and the clutch depressed. At the appropriate time, the left foot is slipped sideways, leaving the clutch to pop in the engaged position as fast as the clutch spring will push. Needless to say, this is not good for the clutch or transmission, but it does give you the fastest start. You have a new 9-3 and you admitted you are rusty with a manual transmission. Take your time and learn your clutch and transmission without destroying them. I could get an 8V classic Saab moving fairly quickly once I learned the grab point of the clutch and the torque curve of the engine. Alan Zaza wrote: > Alright.
