Subject: Re: 2.0 LPT tuning kit

JD, I posted a message about this a week or two ago, as I was thinking of it, and wanted any opinions! Fromm Saab UK, the kit costs about £800ish, fully fitted. However, I've been looking into it a bit further, and whilst the maximum torque figure rises, it also moves from 1800rpm, to 3600rpm.... not so good. I don't doubt it's good, but I have now gone down the route of Hirsh tuning (www.hirsch-performance.ch) as in the UK their kit costs about £1300.... and yet boosts the engine to 220bp, and 300nm of torque - more expensive, but far more powerful than the Saab kit. Hirsch in the UK are now authorised by Saab themselves, so your warranty stays reasonably intact, though the Hirsch warranty covers the Hirsch-ed bits! Far more to the point, max torque remains nice and low donw in the rev range - far more what Saabs are about. Hope this helps, H.
