The Saab Audio System 2 (AS2) has a head unit made by Pioneer, amplifier made by Pioneer, and speakers made by Pioneer. The Saab Audio System 3 (AS3) has a head unit made by Pioneer, amplifier made by Harman Kardon, and speakers made by Harman Kardon. The CD changer is made by Pioneer. > so is it possible to source a philips unit and > install my self ? No. You can't even buy a Pioneer changer and install it as the unit Saab sells attaches to the CAN communication bus in the car. Even if you buy the Saab unit you can not install it yourself as the unit has to be "married" to the car using the service computer Tech-2 (for theft protection). > I already have a Kenwood one which holds 10 CD's (the Saab > one holds 6) is it possible to somehow connect this one and fit it into the > recess at the back right of the boot ? Sure you can fit it in the back of the car, but you will not be able to connect it to the audio system. Btw, the Saab CD changer installs to the left in the boot. > I have a hands free mobile phone system in another car and want to transfer > it to my 95. If the car was manufactured with support for a mobile phone then it should have a 10 pin connector behind the ACC control panel. It may also have the antenna cable already in place. If the car is wired for a phone you should see the microphone to the left or right (depending if you drive on the right or wrong side of the road) of the rear view mirror. > to get a bracket to fit it to the dashboard somewhere. also I believe that > it's possible to control the phone from the steering wheel, is this really > possible ? No. You can control the volume of the installation is done properly. -- G–ran Larsson Senior Systems Analyst hoh AT approve DOT se
