My '98 9-5 2.3 SE (also early 170 bhp version) now has 250 bhp, after reprogramming the motor management system, and replacement of the original exhaust system with a more sportier one. I also had the a sport suspension and a new front-brake-system installed (which obviously isn't needed to get the 250 bhp, but IMO is necessary for security reasons). There are also several offers if you only want to have the motor management system reprogrammed. You'll get (depending on the tuning company) between 210 hbp and about 230 bhp on the "old" 2.3 engine. BTW: I did only notice minor change in fuel consumtion (about 0.5 lt/100 km). HTH. Cheers, J.
