Hi Peter, I had about 42,000Km on the Michelins on my 99 9-5 when I noticed a flat tyre as I reversed out of the garage. The case had split on the front passenger side tyre. (an unusual thing to happen, but it happened on my wifes car as well last week ! ) I replaced them with Pirelli 4000. These are a cheaper tyre (with a lower rating) and as others have said are quieter and feel smoother. I was getting quotes on Michelin Pilots so I am suprised they are not around , but then I suppose there are many different types ? These tyres feel a bit lighter that the Michelins and I think they need to be re-balanced as there is some shake at 110k's so it;s back to Bob Jane's. I changed the back 2 at 45,000km as well. According to the saab dealer they only had about 4,000k's left at the last service. So, when you say you only get 60,000k's, from my perspective you're doin' well. I asked the guy at Bob Jane's about some Pirelli 8000s he had lying around and he said that someone had them fitted to their volvo and only managed 14,000k's. Reegards, Paul P.
