Temp sensor (yes, you found it) could be bad. Radiator could be low on coolant so the temp sensor does not get hot. Something else in the wiring could be bad. I right now have the same problem on the wife's 900T 1985. I told here to watch the temp and use the A/C if it goes high. But it seems OK while moving, but it overheats at idle. Charles.
