Hold on there!!! Left side is counted for when you look at the car from behind (or, sitting in it - driving...). What you call left is what you have on your left hand when you are standing in front of the car, facing the engine i think. Well anyway in your eyes the thermostat is on the right side, coming out at the back of the engine. So, try following the other hose - and donĄt remove any of the pumps.....there are just 2 small screws holding it!
