In article <3bf1c999$0$35573$272ea4a1nopsam.execpc.com>, wkienzlenopsam.com says... > >A friend got around this problem by removing the "guts" of the catalyst >housing by punching it out with a hammer and chisel and then reinstalling >the empty shell. I was wondering, would the MOT inspectors detect if >someone had done this type of thing? > The MOT testers do test emissions, and a car is unlikely to meet the requirements for post-1992 petrol cars unless it has a working catalyst.
