Yeah, I was gonna thank you in the newsgroups, but I accidently deleted your initial response. I really appreciated that advice. It worked like a charm. I still can't understand why when I turned the latch manually on the door edge, the key had no effect on releasing it so I could close the door. I'm gonna have the dealer look at it the next time I have it serviced. Something has to be wrong somewhere as the passenger door works without problems.
