He claimed that there was no way to get it off without damaging it and that they always replace Saab trim. I didn't care much about the cost as the insurance company was picking up the tab. I don't think he was just trying to sell me more parts, as I've had the same shop do another car (non Saab) which had some obvious trim external paint problems, and he didn't offer to replace the trim on that car. Seems like if he was feeding me a line that he would have offered to replace that trim too. So, I'd ask for new trim if I was you. JB
