Some great answers to this thread, and interesting reading - one further thought - Mercedes apparently refuse to fit deadlocks to their cars (at least in the UK) as they claim that it makes the car impossible for EMT's to open in the event of an accident - and thus their security suffers as a result. A simple matter of safety over security - However, my 9-3 locks automatically as soon as I move off, great, but only single locsk - the deadlocks dont engange unless I'm locking the car with a double press on the transponder plip. Is there something fundamentally different about the arrangement of deadlock-capable locks that should thus make them an issue in the event of an emergency, or is it just another classic Mercedes excuse?
