I can invent some where having a seat belt fastened or having an airbag deploy causes more harm than good. HOWEVER, in the majority of accidents cars do not burst into flame. How many accidents have you seen ? How many of the cars burst into flame ? When they do burst into flame, the collision is usually so severe that equipment is needed to extract you from the vehicle (Except on TV and in the movies, where every crash results in a rescue by someone just before the vehicle bursts into flame). I think your point is moot on a practical basis. Bob
