Subject: Re: My First Saab Lovin Every Minute-1999 9-5 v6

I too am a new Saab owner and find I'm grinning just as much as adl6009 is with his 9-5. Last Saturday I picked up a new 2002 9-3 SE Anniversay Edition (see http://www.saabcanada.com/ssi/english/vehicles/saab/93sedan/93sedan_overview .html). In another life 20+ years ago, I sold Saabs when the Turbo was introduced to Canada. Since that time my dream car was to be a Saab Turbo Convertible. Well, that one is still a little out of reach so I settled for the 5-door. "Settled" really isn't the right word as it's one nice set of wheels. We already have a Mazda Miata and my Chev Tahoe was coming off-lease. I wanted something that felt like the Miata but gave me somewhere to stow the dog and carry some cargo like the Tahoe did... the 9-3 SE 5-door fits the bill nicely. If I have any complaints it would be on cabin catch-all space. Yes, the trunk is cavernous and the glove box can take a toaster and a loaf of bread but there aren't any handy places to stash sunglass cases, chewing gum packages, CDs, etc. With the ignition, locks and window controls between the seats there isn't any room left for anything other than the tiny console that contains a single cupholder. There are lots of pockets for maps, file folders, gloves (it's getting cold up here), etc., but nothing for the bulkier items that I like to have close by. Other than that, it's great! The 2.0 litre turbo leaves the teenage import-racers at the lights with their mouths open and the car looks "establishment" enough (while still looking sporty) to maintain my 40's-something dignity. Why did I wait so long... -tom "Dennis Cathey" <dennis.catheynopsamle.com> wrote in message news:3C223A18.AC559FB2nopsamle.com... > Adl, > Thanks for your story; quite enjoyable.
