I've had my 9-3SE TiD for just over a year. It's the 125bhp version (introduced Oct 2000 - earlier models gave 115bhp) and goes *very* well. Most serious niggle is that the front tyre wear is quite high - probably partly due to the weight - and it *does* consume a reasonable amount of oil. If you find the need for more performance then you can get enhancements to over 150bhp from the likes of Abbot. The Saab diesel is not as refined as PSA's diesels - the 1.9 unit in our Xantia TD is far quieter and more economical. I seem to recall that the 2002 models have had further refinements to quiten the engine. -- Rob.
