But I'm puzzled and a little annoyed that there should be so much difference between the Bosch plat +4 and the NGK plugs for your car. Maybe the gaps were too large after all or the Bosh cover up for some deficiency in the system. It could be insufficient high tension voltage. Backfiring is caused by un-ignited gasses being ignited by meeting up with hot gasses from the other cylinders. A CAT killer! My engine is a 2.0 LPT with NGKs, and it it as smooth as silk.
