Yes I did check the fluid level. It was close, but not below, the minimum mark. When the problem recurred Sunday, I did add some fluid, and the lights did not go on thereafter, so maybe that was the issue. It raises another question, however: Why was it low in the first place? So I think I'll get the car in for a check up. Thanks for the advice Simon.
