Yes, of course U are right. This is the first automobile engine I have had stripped down this far...done lots of work on small engines, but splashlube is...well...primitive. I was told, however, to avoid assembly grease on this engine because of the risk of it getting into the hydraulic lifters...Perhaps that was bogus advise. Thanks for your input.
