This is contrary to my experience and to everything I have read about winter compound tires. Having just driven my Aero Wagon on glaze ice, I can assure everyone that Hakkapeliita Qs work much better on it than any summer tire would. Siped winter tires with microcell compounds like the Blizzacks work especially well on glaze ice. ABS and ice tires make relatively short work of icy roads. BTW, please set the "line length", or whatever your newsreader calls it, to a standard "70 characters" so your posts don't go off the edge of the screen.
