Subject: 9-3 Cabrio Hood won't work....

Guys, just thought I'd ask the all-knowing Saab NG before I trot down to my dealer tomorrow.... It was sunny this morning, and I tried to drop the hood of my 2000 9-3 SE Cabrio..... okay so I'm in the Uk and it was only 7 degrees celsius but heated seats have to be good for something! Anyway, I unlatched the clip, and pressed the button. The solid section housing the rear window lifted about an inch before the SiD went <ping!> and the motion halted. I have searched around the obvious hinges, and nothing seems to be obstructing it, I have had no other error messages, and the boot was empty with the roof holder thing dropped fully down into it. Cycling the system repeatedly didn't make any difference, and moreover, when tying to return it to a closed position, the front was about 4 or 5 inches away from the top of the windscreen making latching it closed rather hard work. Any ideas? Will see what my dealer have to say for themselves.....
