Subject: Adjusting Idle

Could someone give me step-by-step instructions on adjusting my idle? From what I can tell, three different adjustments affect idle speed: 1) the "length" of the throttle cable (adjusted by screwing or unscrewing that white plastic thingy); 2) the adjustable screw the throttle assembly rests against when the pedal is fully released; 3) the fuel mixture adjustment screw. Did I miss anything? What is the proper adjustment for each of these components so that idle speed is properly adjusted for a good running engine and optimal gas mileage? TIA. -- christian '85 900 w/ 150K miles
