Subject: Upgrading 9000 speakers

Hi all, thought I would post my first message! I have had a 1991 9000 2.3T CDS (auto) for about a year (upgraded from a 1986 900T16S which was getting a bit tired), and managed to find an adapter to plug in my Kenwood KRC-159R (35Wx4) to replace the Philips head unit which I presume was original. I don't like it *too* loud, but have speaker distortion from the front right speaker on bass-heavy tracks. I think it is time to upgrade the 4 speakers to something decent, but do not know what type/watt are in already. Has anyone done this, and what would you recommend please? I'm not sure about putting in an amp, but might consider it.......! Thanks for your time Andrew SOC Member
