Subject: Re: trade in value

In December 2001 I purchased a similar 9-3 with 50,000 miles from VOB Saab in Rockville, MD for $12,500. The car is a dark blue 9-3 S, 4 door, 5 spd, power sunroof, leather, heated front seats, rear spoiler, in dash CD plus 6 CD changer (in the trunk), excellent condition, good history (all maintenance records in the dealership computer). I was expecting to pay about $14,500 but it was the second Saab I bought from the same dealer - the other one being a new 2001 9-5 in September 2001. The MSRP for the 9-5 was $38,810 and I paid $28,700. I think it was a buyers market right after 9/11. I feel that I paid a very fair price for both cars and this is the first time I've purchased from a dealer without that sinking feeling of getting ripped off afterwards.
