Betsy, If the light comes on, there's a problem with the system. Period. Perhaps an intermittent problem, but a problem nonetheless. It sounds to me a little like they're trying to avoid spending the necessary time to properly diagnose the problem since the reimbursement they get from Saab isn't worth it for them. They just keep resetting the computer and telling you it's "fixed" in the hope that one of two things will happen: either you give up, or the warranty expires. If you then decide to have it fixed, they can charge you the full cost of correctly diagnosing and repairing whatever's broken. I've seen this sort of thing before. Take your out-of-warranty car in for a radiator leak, they'll replace the radiator and charge you accordingly. Take an in-warranty car for the same problem, they'll put a $2 bottle of "stop-leak" in the system to bandaid it until the warranty runs out. If I were you, I'd demand that they really *fix* the problem and get Saab to pick up the tab!
