The engine type should be part of the VIN. If someone has a shop manual they should be able to decode the VIN to tell you exactly what engine and transmission you should have in the car and where it was made etc... Try sending an email to www.autoscandia.com. with your VIN. I highly recommend this shop for Volvo and Saab if you are in the Northern Virginia area.
