Thanks for all the information.

Our local dealer had to dig around a bit and has reported that the new model
is to be available from October this year.  It seems from the bits he could
get that it will be 3 box rather than hatchback.  SAAB is expected to make
some information available at one of the major motor shows in two or three
months.
