I'm assuming that Optimax is 'super unleaded' (if not ignore me) I found that the price varies quite dramatically from between 5-15p more than regular unleaded. The most annoying part is that most garages do not advertise the price so you only find out how much you are being ripped off when you get to the pump. I use it intermittently in my Carlsson (220bhp - very similar to the early Aero) mostly when I am doing lots of high boost driving (those nice bendy A & B roads :o) because it allows the engine to maintain maximum boost without backing off due to knock that you can see with standard unleaded in the Carlsson/Aero/chipped turbo. Watch your boost gauge and you will see that with standard unleaded under hard acceleration, particularly in warm weather, it will hit max boost then almost immediately back off, with super it will maintain that max boost. I found virtually no difference in fuel consumption between the two.
