Thanks Andy, I'm sorry to hear your tale of woe. At least I got several years motoring from a used vehicle (bought at 47k miles - problem emerged at about 105k). It's worrying that nobody has been able to help. Do you know if your Hall Effect Sensor has been changed? This is target of my current suspicion.
