It has something to do with the fact that the whole ignitionsystem (incl. the Direct Ignition) is laid out to "work" with the resistance of the NGK-plugs (Specific the NGK "R" plugs). Any other plugs will rapidly give you poor performance and in worst case an expensive DI-unit replacement... Cheers!
