Hi, The same part failed on a 1983 900 I owned about 2 years ago. You'll find it inside the driver compartment, behind a panel, above the clutch pedal (to the right of the hood/bonnet release). IIRC it's one of 2 relays there - the second one is for the turn indicator (blinkers). You'll have to pull them one at a time to find out which is which. I remember it was a lot of trouble getting to these relays. I don't remember if I managed to get the lower paneling off. I think I just crawled in and stuck my hand up. Removing the driver's seat (disconnect the heater cable first!) may make crawling about a bit easier . . . As for replacing, the cheapest fix is to go to a car yard (wrecker) and get one from there - pull the same part from a car there. Unfortunately I don't know what the markings are on them, but it should be easy for you to identify which relay it is on your car, if you can get to it at all ;-) Good luck! Robert, G–teborg Sweden.
