Before you start messing with the ECU check for vacuum leaks. There is vacuum pump in the front left wheel arch. Find the thick vac hose passing along the top of the wing (fender) and disconnect from the pump. Remove the left front speaker grille and look for the component with the silver chain attached to it. Suck on the vac tube and the chain should move pulling the throttle pedal down. If it doesn't do this you may need to bend the brackets slightly towards the brake and/or clutch vac switches .
