I've been through this before, too. Perhaps even in the same thread! I'd very much dispute the following passage: "Lineone" <lineonenopsamone.org> wrote in message news:jkBX8.1186$SM5.91489nopsamfep1-win.server.ntli.net... > On the same topic, I posted this back in May 2002. > > ********************************************** > Hi guys, > > In the 1995 Saab 900 glossy brochure, Tommy Lindholm (responsible for the > transmission) is quoted as saying: > > "The electro-mechanical actuator governs clutch operation quickly, > distinctly and with minimum slip. There is less clutch wear and progress is > much smoother" (I know you're just posting someone else's quote, so don't shoot me!) In some situations it tends to slip the clutch a lot more than I would. For example, when in a slow-moving traffic queue, I'd normally leave it in 1st gear and let the car pull itself along at idle (when the road is fairly level). The Sensonic system thinks you're about to stop at these speeds, and dissengages the clutch. To make steady progress, rather than a series of forward lurches, you have to hold the revs higher and the clutch slips. On the whole, though, I think it works very well.
